Dhammaruwan was introduced to meditation in his early childhood with the teachings of Anagarika Munindra of lndia. He has over 30 years of Meditation and Dhamma experience and over 15 years of Teaching and 10 years of international teaching experience. He was trained for many years under Bhante Henepola Gunaratana nayaka Thero, and was a teacher-trainee under Joseph Goldstein and Steve Armstrong. He founded the Nirodha Trust and the Nirodha City Centre. Dhammaruwan is also known for spontaneously chanting suttas in his early childhood.

Dhammaruwan teaches Vipassana (Insight) Meditation using a systematic approach to help yogis cut through the self deception that prevents them from accessing true knowledge. Dhammaruwan is known for teaching what can be a complex subject in a simple and easy language.

The retreat will be held in Noble Silence at the Jhana Grove Meditation Centre in Serpentine and is suitable for beginners as well as experienced meditators. It will be possible to attend on a part-time or full-time basis.
